Description: Birth Choice Dallas is looking for a creative and energetic individual. He or She would be tasked to combat the evils of the culture of death by raising funds to support our mission. This role requires event management, which includes fundraising events such as galas and small gatherings. Principally, you will build donor relationships to engage new and recurring philanthropic interests and gifts.
Reports to: The Executive Director
Objectives: The Director of Development is a member of the Birth Choice administrative team responsible for securing funds according to the annual budget set by the Board of Directors.
This includes but is not limited to:
● Developing overall fundraising strategy with the Executive Director and Board
● Securing and cultivating one-on-one visits with current and prospective benefactors
● Soliciting major gifts for various programs and initiatives
● Planning fundraising events
● Researching grant opportunities, writing and submitting grant applications
● Developing and implementing communications calendar for electronic and print materials
● Managing Network for Good, Birth Choice’s donor database software
● Attending local events as a representative of Birth Choice
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
● Two years of work experience in fundraising or related field preferred
● Passionately pro-life, opposes the evils of contraception, abortion and euthanasia
● Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in english
● Ability to manage time well, as many days will consist of off-site visits with benefactors
● Ability to work collaboratively with all Birth Choice staff
● Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
● Public speaking skills
● Other skills: problem solving, computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, donor database, basic graphic design), social media
