Overview of the Position
As a part of the Pro-Life Generation, Students for Life of America is looking for a Leadership Programs Assistant. The Leadership Programs Assistant will be responsible for the organization and communication of Leadership Development opportunities for pro-life students involved in the National Leaders Collective, and general leadership development for the National Leaders Collective for the Leadership Initiatives Team. The Leadership Programs Assistant will report to the Director of Leadership Initiatives.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the Director of Leadership Initiatives:
- Set up and organize all tracking systems for leadership programs.
- Update all materials essential to leadership program success.
- Track all trainings and outcomes for Students for Life HQ.
- Coordinate student interview process for all leadership programs.
- Conduct research on various leadership opportunities and programs to improve student leadership programs.
Assist with graduates and leadership programs as needed:
- Assist with the Hildegard Art program.
- Oversee the SFLA Alumni Association.
- Oversee alumni outreach.
- Organize and communicate with mentors for the National Leaders Collective.
- Lead other fellowships as needed.
- Mobilize fellows for various opportunities.
- Assist in leading fellowship calls when needed.
- Keep all trainings updated on SFLAHQ for fellows.
Coordinate all surveys, reports, and outcomes for the Leadership Initiatives Team:
- Track all graduate successes and surveys.
- Track all program evaluations and feedback.
- Track all program outcomes.
- Publish student success stories throughout the year.
Assist the Leadership Initiatives Team as needed with:
- The National Leaders Collective kickoff weekend.
- Recruiting students for rapid response C3 and C4 field activities.
- Students for Life HQ.
- SCOTUS events as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Candidates must have knowledge of grammar rules and utilize the oxford comma.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience participating in leadership programs with SFLA preferred.

- A positive attitude, good problem-solving skills, and a passion for serving in the pro-life field are a must.
- Must be teachable to learn SFLA technologies and platforms.
- Candidates must be self- motivated, a good problem solver, have an entrepreneurial spirit, expert multi-tasker, maintain confidentiality, able to work independently, and be a highly organized person.
- Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
- Must have the capacity to present to student leaders.
- East coast located preferred.
- Located out of Headquarters preferred.
Position Details
Position Type
- This is a full-time salaried position working at least 40 hours per week. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours can be somewhat flexible by request. Evenings as needed for leadership calls.
Physical Demands
- Must have the ability to operate technical equipment such as a computer and sit for extended periods of time.
- Other physical demands may include setting up displays, and events, assisting in warehouse packing and supply organization for events, and participating in local and national pro-life marches. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
Travel
- Travel to bi-annual team trainings in January and July is required.
- Travel to the National Leaders Collective kickoff weekend in June.
- Travel to Fredericksburg once a quarter for in-office visits with the LI team and offsites, and in-person event preparation for the National Leaders Collective kickoff weekend in the month of June.
Work Authorization
- Must be able to successfully complete an I-9. The I-9 is used for verifying the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States.
