Overview of the Position
Students for Life of America, led by Kristan Hawkins, is seeking a dynamic and social media-savvy video editor to join our Pro-Life Generation team. The ideal candidate will be adept at creating engaging social media video content in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Main Function: Create social media content for Students for Life, Students for Life Action, Kristan Hawkins, and other Pro-Life Generation sub-brand accounts to increase social audience growth on all channels.
Subfunctions:
- Video Content Creation:

- Stay updated on current video trends, formats, and best practices relevant to social media.

- Identify and source compelling video content from relevant events, interviews, speeches, and social media.

- Collaborate with the communications team to plan and storyboard video projects that align with organizational goals.
- Content Clipping:

- Find and clip relevant video segments from longer recordings, social media posts, and other sources.

- Ensure clips are relevant, engaging, and aligned with the organization’s messaging.

- Organize and archive clipped content for easy access and future use.
- Editing and Post-Production:

- Edit raw footage into polished videos using video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, etc.).

- Add graphics, text overlays, special effects, and transitions to enhance video content.

- Ensure videos are optimized for various social media platforms (e.g., aspect ratios, resolutions).

- Sound Editing:

- Enhance audio quality by adjusting levels, removing background noise, and adding music or sound effects.

Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Candidates must have knowledge of grammar rules and utilize the oxford comma.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
- Strong understanding of video formats, codecs, and best practices for social media.
- Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) is a plus.
- Familiarity with audio editing and sound design tools.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills to track and interpret video performance metrics.
- Ability to generate reports and use data insights to refine video production strategies.
- Strong alignment with the pro-life mission and values of Students for Life and related sub-brands.

Who Are We Looking For

- Must be teachable to learn SFLA technologies and platforms.
- Candidates must be self- motivated, a good problem solver, have an entrepreneurial spirit, expert multi-tasker, maintain confidentiality, able to work independently, and be a highly-organized person.
Position Details
Position Type
- This is a full-time salaried position working at least 40 hours per week. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours can be somewhat flexible by request.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- The Video Editor will report to the Social Media Manager, Savannah Slattery, and will
- collaborate with multiple departments within Students for Life, without direct supervisor responsibilities.
Physical Demands
- Must have the ability to operate technical equipment such as a computer and sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to withstand long periods of driving.
- Other physical demands may include: setting up displays, walking around campuses, standing during display times, walking outside for long periods of time (door to door canvassing) and participating in local and national pro-life marches. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
Travel
- Travel to bi-annual team trainings in January and July is required
- Potential travel to regular team offsite & National events.
Work Authorization
- Must be able to successfully complete an I-9. The I-9 is used for verifying the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States.

Salary Range: $55,000 – $60,000
