TITLE: Lead Client Advocate
HOURS PER WEEK: Part – time hours: Monday – Thursday 11:45 AM – 5 PM not to exceed 20 hours per
week. Hours could fluctuate to morning hours if needed.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Non-Exempt BENEFITS: Outlined in Employee Manual
REPORTS TO: Client Services Director EVALUATION: 90 days and annually in November or December
POSITION SUMMARY:
As an ambassador of Jesus Christ, the client advocate offers Spanish speaking
clients making a pregnancy decision or coping with the results of their choice compassion, hope, help,
and Christ-centered support. Client advocate also provides support and assistance to Client Services
Director.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
• A commitment to Jesus as Lord and Savior
• Fluent in Spanish and confident in translating to English
• Experience in case management preferred, but not required
• 3 years minimum of equivalent experience in an office setting working with patients/clients
• Full agreement and abide by the Pregnancy Resource Center’s Vision, Mission, Statement of Faith, Statement of Principle, and policies and procedures of the clinic
• Be a committed Christian (follower of Jesus) who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
• Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and sexual purity
• Be able to respect and keep information confidential
• Be dependable, stable, and capable of following through on commitments
• Exhibit a sincere desire to reach out with the love of Jesus to people in distress
• Be able to identify and adjust to a client’s pace of progress and growth
• Be familiar with scripture about the sanctity of life, forgiveness, and salvation
• Complete the pregnancy center volunteer training
• Willingness to speak to the general public to help advance the mission of the organization if needed
• Excellent computer skills, competence in Microsoft, and data entry skills
• Self-motivated, able to prioritize work, and can work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Able to handle interruptions throughout the day
• Takes pride in work
• Willingness to help with special events that advance the mission of the organization
RESPONSIBILITES
Patient Advocacy
• Provide crisis intervention and translation support for each Spanish speaking client in an atmosphere of warmth and compassion through listening and other helping skills
• Provide accurate information on abortion as being interpreted from medical professional to client
• Provide information on parenting, adoption as being interpreted from medical professional
• Follow all policies and procedures regarding intake, phone, and in-office duties
• Offer support, material resources, and referrals appropriate to a client’s situation
• Look for teachable moments with a client in order to share the love of Jesus and His plan of salvation
• Appropriately follow-up with clients according to the policies and guidelines of the center
• Maintain all client records as indicated in center policies and guidelines Administration Assistance
• Attend staff and volunteer meetings
• Assists with the planning and coordination of volunteer meetings
• Translate paperwork to better assist Spanish speaking clients/patients
• Assist Client Services Director as directed
Other:
• Processes labels, merge documents, tables, correspondence, manuals, charts, newsletters, and other documents as needed
• Photocopies materials as appropriate
• Scans patient files as according to document retention schedule
• Works cooperatively (with a servant heart) with other staff, including staff from other departments, contributing to word and action to an office work environment/ atmosphere
• Assists with organizing special initiatives, programs, events, including communicating (following up) with vendors, affiliates, donors, staff, and/or other constituencies to meet/accomplish established objectives as needed.
