Status: Paid - Part Time

Description:

Supervisor: Director of Communications & Community Development
Position Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, 24 hours

Position Summary

The focus of this position is to bring awareness of the programs and services of Alternatives to key community agencies and local university/college campuses. Through the development of working relationships in these areas, strategic partnerships are formed to create referral sources for all program areas of the center. This position encompasses vision, creativity, and relationship strategies.

Education/Experience Requirements

A bachelor’s degree or applicable related experience in communications, human services, public relations, psychology, counseling, social work or applicable field. Experience in community relations, public speaking and campus life. Preferred: Spanish speaking.

Skills and Attitude

  • Ability to lead and effectively implement Alternatives Pregnancy Center’s Mission and Vision.
  • Must have the drive and passion to support the growth and awareness of Alternatives with a well-versed understanding of current and emerging issues related to unintended pregnancy, abortion, sexual health and youth-related issues.
  • Strong implementation skills, writing skills, communication and presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations.
  • Self-confident and diplomatic when facing opposition from varied responses regarding unintended pregnancy and abortion.
  • Build trust quickly with community agencies, college faculty and staff, etc.
  • Self-motivated and a self-starter with excellent follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrates high energy, enthusiasm and confidence.
  • Travel throughout the Denver Metro Area.
  • Works well both independently and collaboratively.
  • High emotional intelligence.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft products and ability to work within Alternatives’ & A Promising Future’s database.
  • Practices servant leadership and functions with a Christ-like love in professional and personal affairs.
