Summary

The Students for Life of America Development Administrative Team’s Intern position is based in Fredericksburg, VA and will work out of the SFLA National Headquarters. This position will provide basic donor support by assisting with processing the mail and answering the phones and emails. In addition to the assignments below, they will be given on occasion, miscellaneous tasks as needed by the development team.

Responsibilities
  • Opening and sorting mail.
  • Processing donor’s remove requests.
  • Answering the phone and assisting as needed in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Processing donations made over the phone or sent in the mail.
  • Help to maintain accurate and updated donor information in our CRM database.
  • Updating accounts for contact frequency requests and follow with email.
  • Filing donor paperwork.
  • Maintains donor confidentiality and ensures compliance with related policies.
  • Possess thorough and current knowledge of SFLA and can articulate information to the public.
  • Assist with other duties and projects assigned by the Development Admin Manager and the Outreach Coordinator.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Must be located in Fredericksburg, VA.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. The ability to lift at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to assist with basic cleaning duties.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time hourly position working 15 hours per week.

Preferred candidates will be available between the hours of 3pm and 5pm at least three times a week. Additional working hours will be between the hours of 9am and 3pm.
