Overview of the Position

As a part of the Pro-Life Generation, Students for Life of America/Action is looking to hire a Finance Coordinator that will be responsible for the financial compliance of certain initiatives, including paying invoices, managing payroll, administering human resources, time tracking, and database management.  This position is based out of Fredericksburg, VA & is in-office 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

Compliance

• Assist with business insurance coverage and risk management
• Post Virginia labor law posters & ensure labor law posters for remote states are posted on BambooHR
• Coordinate charitable licensing with outside firms, including working with fundraising vendors, to ensure licensure.
• State filing and tracking for programs and lobbying.

Finance

• Work with SFL’s accountant to reconcile vendor accounts monthly to ensure SFL is compliant in operating under legal & General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Receive and process all invoices and timesheets in a timely fashion
• Receive and process team member’s purchases
  Assisting the Finance Manager with organizing and filing bank statements
• Work with SFL’s accountant and Finance Manager to prepare and complete the annual financial audit
• Help maintain fiscal budgets
• Assist the Finance Manager with Shared Services and allocations, including collecting time trackers
• Manage and administer SFLAction payroll semi-monthly.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Candidates must have knowledge of grammar rules and utilize the oxford comma.
• An associates degree is preferred
• Experience with payroll and accounts payable is preferred
• Quickbooks experience

Position Details

Position Type

• This is a full-time salaried position working at least 40 hours per week. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours can be somewhat flexible by request.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• The Finance Coordinator will report to the Finance Manager and will
collaborate with multiple departments within Students for Life, without direct supervisor responsibilities.

Physical Demands

• Must have the ability to operate technical equipment such as a computer and sit for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to withstand long periods of driving.
• Other physical demands may include: setting up displays, walking around campuses, standing during display times, walking outside for long periods of time (door to door canvassing) and participating in local and national pro-life marches. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

Travel

• Travel to bi-annual team trainings in January and July is required

Work Authorization

• Must be able to successfully complete an I-9.  The I-9 is used for verifying the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States.
