The IPA Coordinator will conduct and organize research projects that help shape effective
messaging and outreach. As part of the Strategic Initiatives Team, the IPA Coordinator will work
alongside other departments to ensure the success of these projects including, Influential
Institutions Initiative (III), Christian Schools Project & Policy Rating, Qualitative Messaging
Studies, and Planned Parenthood’s Influence Tracking.

  • III will measure the impact and effectiveness of a Students for Life group on campus to change student opinions on abortion over the course of an academic year.
  • The Christian Schools Project & Policy Ratings tracks Christian Universities’ ties to the abortion industry as well as rank their pregnant and parenting support policies.
  • Our Qualitative Messaging Studies are a deeper look into the psychology behind what can change someone’s mind on abortion.
  • Planned Parenthood’s Influence Tracking is an annual review of their locations, services, funding, and other relative information.

To accomplish all this, these projects consist of survey analytics, coordinating campus activities, conducting research, and publishing results. The IPA Coordinator must organize and communicate efforts effectively across departments.

This is a full-time salaried position with benefits.

Essential Functions for IPA Coordinator

  • Responsible for the execution of the Influential Institution Initiative to create and
    measure the effectiveness of on-campus activism through:
    • Survey creation and data collection.
    • Data analysis & analytics.
    • Coordinate on-campus events with student leaders (large displays, speakers,
      training, forums, etc).
    • Lead training and presentations for student groups.
    • Manage III on 5 campuses.
    • Attend events on the 5 campuses, as needed.
    • Work with designers and the Field Staff Writer to create materials necessary
      for the success of campus events.
  • Conduct research and auditing of 800 Christian Universities.
    • Lead and organize research documenting abortion industry ties to Christian
      schools. Each school will be audited annually and receive a letter grade.

  • Coordinate research process for messaging studies.
    • Communicate with vendors and SFLA departments throughout the process of the study.
    • Attend and observe qualitative research process when necessary.
    • Assist in Annual Pro-Life Stakeholders Research presentation.
  • Report on Planned Parenthood’s Influence and track changes.
    • Audit Planned Parenthood locations.
    • Track changes in services and funding according to their annual report.

Other duties as assigned.

Competencies
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel) and online search engines. Must be teachable to learn SFLA Salesforce database and Survey Monkey (or other data collection methods).

The candidate must be gritty, self-motivated, a good problem solver, have an entrepreneurial spirit, be an expert multi-tasker, maintain confidentiality, able to work independently, and be a highly organized person.

Candidates must have knowledge of grammar rules and utilize the oxford comma.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisor responsibilities.

Work Environment
Students for Life of America is a 501c3 not-for-profit charity that engages in education and activism. We are made up of Americans of all ages, although the majority of our team is in our 20s and 30s. We run a fast-moving, grassroots organization that strives to innovate, unify, and lead. We believe the ending of abortion will happen when both supply and demand for abortion are erased. We believe that this is a multi-front fight as we must engage to change our culture but also laws. We do not believe there is a silver-bullet to ending abortion. We do not accept mediocrity, and we value leadership amongst our team and volunteers.

Physical Demands
Must be able to withstand extended periods of driving or travel. Other physical demands may include: setting up displays, walking around campuses, standing during display times. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time salaried position in our Fredericksburg, VA Headquarters, or in an approved remote location, working at least 45 hours per week. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., with core hours from 10am – 3pm ET. Occasional weekends for canvassing may be included. Hours can be somewhat flexible by request. Workday flow/schedule should be reported to the manager of this position to coordinate comp days provided through the SFLA Employee Handbook or to arrange for schedule adjustment based on duties required.

Travel
Attend important events to support campus groups, as needed. Visit each campus, at least once, in person during the time of the study.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor Degree or better.
Preferred at least 1-2 years of experience with Students for Life.

Work Authorization
Must be able to successfully complete an I-9. The I-9 is used for verifying the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States.
