Overview of the Position
As a part of the Pro-Life Generation, Students for Life of America (SFLA) is looking to hire bold and gritty pro-life leaders as Regional Ambassadors throughout the country. Regional Ambassadors increase the reach of SFLA by participating in campus and community activism, with the goal of changing hearts and minds on abortion and recruiting others to join the Pro-Life Generation.
This is a 20 hour-a-week position, with the majority of the time spent on campus doing recruitment and outreach, and is a temporary position from August 1, 2024-May 16, 2025.
Location
This position is based out of New Orleans, LA.
Responsibilities
- Campus Outreach
- Provide trainings to students and community members
- Table and host displays on campus
- Collect contacts
- Recruit new leads by doing outreach on target campuses
- Promote and encourage students to partake in our Standing with You Initiative
- Community Activism
- Take part in the Abortion Free Cities Campaign
- Door knocking and other “Get Out the Vote” efforts
- Lead, recruit for, and attend local mobilizations, Rapid Response opportunities and community events
- Church outreach
- Serve Alongside Regional Team
- Meet regional metrics
- Participate in weekly calls and daily group chats
- Assist with occasional administrative tasks and data entry
- Other duties as assigned by Regional Manager
Qualifications
- Regional Ambassadors must own a working vehicle and have a valid drivers license
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Candidates must have knowledge of grammar rules and utilize the oxford comma.
- Have a high school diploma.
- At least 1-2 years experience with a Students for Life of America group on campus.
Who Are We Looking For
- A positive attitude, good problem-solving skills, and a passion for serving in the pro-life field are a must.
- Must be teachable to learn SFLA technologies and platforms.
- Candidates must be self-motivated, a good problem solver, have an entrepreneurial spirit, be an expert multi-tasker, maintain confidentiality, be able to work independently, and be a highly-organized person.
- Must be bold to conduct outreach on the topic of abortion on college campuses and in the community.
- Be comfortable with public speaking, as they will give trainings, speak at protests, rallies, and other events.
Position Details
Position Type
- This is a temporary position. Each Regional Ambassador will serve from Aug 1, 2024-May 16, 2025. If proven to be an incredible organizational fit with high performance, and exemplifying our core values, there is the potential to be rehired as a Senior Regional Ambassador or selected for a full-time position, the following school year.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Regional Ambassadors will report to their designated Regional Manager and will have no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands
- Must have the ability to operate technical equipment such as a computer and sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to withstand long periods of driving.
- Other physical demands may include: setting up displays, walking around campuses, standing during display times, walking outside for long periods of time (door to door canvassing) and participating in local and national pro-life marches. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
Travel
- This is a field position, that entails working out of the home. The majority of travel will be within 120 miles for campus visits, community events, trainings, and mobilizations.
- Regional Ambassadors must own a working vehicle and have a valid drivers license
- Other opportunities for travel may arise and will be discussed with your manager.
Work Authorization
- Must be able to successfully complete an I-9. The I-9 is used for verifying the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States.
