Overview of the Position

Students for Life of America, under the leadership of Kristan Hawkins, is looking for a Social Media Administrator to join our Pro-Life Generation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and posting engaging content across our social media platforms, ensuring a consistent and impactful online presence in a fast-paced environment. The Social Media Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing and executing the social media strategy for the Pro-Life Generation. This individual will be responsible for maintaining a dynamic online presence across all social media channels, engaging with the community, and supporting the broader organizational goals through effective social media communication.

 

Responsibilities

Content Creation & Scheduling:

  • Schedule, and post content for various Pro-Life Generation social media channels including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Rumble, and others. Ensure content is engaging, on-brand, and optimized for each platform to maximize reach and engagement.

  • Use social media management tools to plan and automate posts.
  • Implement strategy to grow the TikTok & YouTube account’s follower base and increase engagement.
  • Identify trends and challenges that align with the organization’s mission and values.

Community Engagement & Monitoring:

  • Actively monitor social media channels in real-time, including those of other pro-life, pro-abortion, SFLA staff & students, and relevant news accounts
    Actively monitor breaking news and report to the team for response.
  • Respond to all direct messages (DMs) and comments in a timely and professional manner.
  • Keep social media content calendar organized and plan content ahead of time for holidays, events, and on-going themes.
  • Foster a positive online community by interacting with followers and addressing any issues or concerns.

Strategic Planning & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Field Team to create tailored social media plans for local and national events.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager to brainstorm and develop innovative content ideas and strategies as well as a master content calendar.
  • Assist in shaping the overall brand voice and strategy for each social media platform.

Analytics & Reporting:

  • Track and analyze social media performance metrics to measure the success of campaigns and posts.
  • Provide regular reports on social media activities, including insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay updated with the latest social media trends and best practices to ensure the organization’s social media presence remains relevant and effective.

Event Coverage:

  • Provide live social media coverage for key events, including rallies, conferences, and other public appearances.
  • Coordinate with event organizers and participants to gather content and ensure comprehensive coverage.

Position Details

Position Type

  • This is a full-time hourly position working 40 hours per week. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., depending on time zone.
  • You will be expected to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • The Social Media Administrator will report to the Social Media Manager and will collaborate with multiple departments within Students for Life, without direct supervisor responsibilities.

Physical Demands

  • Must have the ability to operate technical equipment such as a computer and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Other physical demands may include: setting up displays, walking around campuses, standing during display times, walking outside for long periods of time at rallies, events, or other activities, and participating in local and national pro-life marches. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

Travel

  • Travel to annual team meetings and occasional off-sites as needed.
  • Travel to National Pro-Life Summit and National Celebrate Life Weekend for Social Media Coverage is required

Work Authorization

  • Must be able to successfully complete an I-9. The I-9 is used for verifying the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Candidates must have knowledge of grammar rules and utilize the oxford comma.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Political experience or education preferred.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive topics with tact and professionalism.
  • Passion for the pro-life cause and alignment with the mission and values of the Pro-Life Generation.
