The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track New Life Solutions and Shepherd’s Village assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other related financial activities.
Performs month end close duties.
Prepares monthly financial statements.
Maintains the general ledger.
Reconciles bank accounts monthly.
Reconciles balance sheet accounts, including payroll and benefits liabilities.
Gathers necessary account information and documents to provide to external auditors and CPA for annual financial statement audit and tax return.
Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

Accepts, understands, and abides in the New Life Solutions mission, vision, and Statement of Faith. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent problem-solving skills (analysis, research, decision making etc.) Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Works well independently. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, required; however, experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the degree. At least 2 years of not-for-profit accounting experience preferred.
