Summary

Louisiana Right to Life, one of the nation’s premier pro-life state organizations, is looking for an energetic, passionate, and effective person to join its team as Youth Programs Director based in the New Orleans office.

The New Orleans-based Youth Programs Director of the Louisiana Right to Life Educational Committee Inc. is responsible, under the direction of the Director of Education, Executive Director, and the Board of Directors of the organization, to spearhead the conceptualization, organization, and execution of all youth-oriented programs of the organization, and any other activities so decided by the organization. The Youth Programs Director will collaborate with LARTL Staff, including the other Youth Programs Director headquartered in Lafayette.

Qualities Needed:

  • Experience and Knowledge Recommended: Prior experience in following activities is recommended:
    • Pro-Life activities and a solid foundation of pro-life principles
    • Students for Life experience on high school and/or college campuses
    • Youth Ministry
  • Self-Starter: The employee would be required to be self-driven to set and reach goals without constant monitoring
  • Organized and Responsible
  • Reliable: Employee will be working with young people, and therefore, he/she will have to be very trustworthy and reliable. In addition, because the employee will be representing the organization often without the Executive Director or other staff or board member, he/she must present an appropriate image of the organization.
  • A passion for the pro-life cause and youth education.
  • Ability to work with many different groups of people, including of various religious denominations.

Terms of Employment:

  • The position will be a full-time (at least 40 hours a week) salaried position.
  • The starting salary of the employee will depend on the candidate and their experience.
  • Initial benefits would include:

    • 10 Business Days Paid Vacation (accrued ratably over a year’s period). Vacation days would increase depending on the number of years the employee is on staff.

  • The Youth Programs Co-Director will work out of the New Orleans office of the organization (200 Allen Toussaint Blvd New Orleans, LA 70124) or any other location the organization so approves.
  • The employee will be reimbursed for reasonable expenses (mileage, purchases, etc.) incurred while working for the organization.

Overview of Responsibilities:

YOUTH PRESENTATIONS & EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

  • Coordinate opportunities to educate youth on pro-life topics, with a priority on awareness about abortion.
  • Secure and give presentations in elementary schools, high schools, colleges, and churches in the Greater New Orleans area and other locations as needed.
  • Utilize social media and other creative avenues to accomplish this mission.

OTHER YOUTH ACTIVITIES

  • High School Pro-Life Club Development
  • Outreach at Youth Events
  • Louisiana Pro-Life Oratory Contest for high school students
  • Intern Program: Recruit interns to assist with Louisiana Right to Life projects
  • Work with Louisiana Right to Life’s College Director to strengthen existing college efforts and foster new initiatives on campus

PULSE YOUTH EVENTS AND PROGRAMS:

A series of intensive programs, hosted by Louisiana Right to Life, aimed at forming youth leaders who can make an impact for life in their communities.

  • PULSE Immersions: Weekend or day-long youth camps for high school students.
  • PULSE Leadership Institute: The week-long expanded summer edition of PULSE.
  • PULSE Teams: Monthly meetings and activities of regional PULSE teams.

 

THE MARCH FOR LIFE IN WASHINGTON, D.C. & GEAUX FORTH YOUTH RALLY:

  • Plan, promote, and execute youth rally in C. for 1,000+ Louisiana students.
